The Los Angeles County Department of Youth Development (DYD) is responsible for implementing and evaluating a growing network of community-based care coordination in lieu of justice system involvement for young people under the age of 18 in Los Angeles County. This supportive services model is unprecedented in its scale and scope, reflecting evidence of effective practices for Youth justice transformation. DYD provides diversion and development programming for all legally eligible Youth including those who would otherwise become involved in the justice system for alleged felony offenses in the County.
